Class 1-5 is a class at North High. During year 0, it was taught by Okabe and included Kyon, Haruhi Suzumiya and 28 other students. The classroom is on the fourth floor, and has a view of the shore.
The original class president was Ryoko Asakura, but after she "left" the class, she was eventually replaced by Goto.
In year 1, Kyon, Haruhi, Kunikida and Taniguchi, among a few others in Class 1-5, graduated to Class 2-5, also taught by Okabe. T transfers into Class 2-5 later in the year.
While some students were introduced in the light novels, most were identified in supplementary material for The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.

- In what seems to be a translation mistake, the first U.S. Edition (November 2010) of the Disappearance light novel (translated by Chris Pai for MX Medial LLC) modified the list of excerpted names from the class roster in the Japanese original text (Saeki, Sakanaka, Suzuki, and Seno), replacing Seno with "Suno" and additionally reversing the last two's order, between which "Suzumiya" would originally fall (in hiragana syllabary order). (This leads to contradictions toward the alphabetical ordering of both hiragana and Latin, when placing Su-zu-mi-ya before Su-zu-ki it clashes with the hiragana order that should be KI before MI and Latin order that should be K before M).
