Michelle Ruff is a veteran voice actor in many different cartoon series that are produced in the Los Angeles area. Her voice can be sweet and innocent as Chi in Chobits , or commanding as Rukia Kukichi in Bleach. She also has notable leading roles as Miki in Marmalade Boy, Elie in Rave Master, Fujiko in Lupin the III, Aoi in Ai Yori Aoshi. She also has memorable roles as Yuki Nagato in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Zoe/Kazemon in Digimon Frontier, Hyde and Naomi in Zatch Bell, Yoko in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Cream the Rabbit in The Sonic the Hedgehog series and Kluke in Blue Dragon.

Early Life

Michelle Ruff grew up in the Midwest. She attended Michigan State where she also worked at a talent agency, and had majored in video and radio production. When asked by her boss to attend some of the auditions that she had been booking for others, Michelle got interested in acting so she got training at several different improv groups in Chicago.

Career

A move to Los Angeles resulted in getting some voiceover work with Bang Zoom in the rapidly growing anime field. She initially voiced under her mother's name, Georgette Rose, and landed a few major roles was playing the lead character Chi in Chobits and also Miki in the romantic comedy Marmalade Boy where she also got to do some extensive narratives.

Ruff has mentioned in interviews that she was very fortunate that she was able to do voiceover work for so long without having to do another day job. In 2006, she was given the privilege of voicing lead character Rukia Kuchiki in the long running and popular series Bleach. As a result, she has also been attending more conventions than ever before.
